The following are online resources that I recommend to help you grow in your prayer life and study the Word of God.
Prayer
Prayer is simply talking to God. Where would I be without that gift in my life? I am passionate about inspiring others to pray but also training others to engage in prayer for the sake of others. Although I could recommend a ton of books, classes, webinars, podcasts on this topic, I will highlight one training that is easily accessible online. The Multiply Prayer Training is a solid discipleship resource that I personally endorse as I have recently worked with Nikki White who taught this at my local church recently and I also took her online training which went more in-depth. The resource is online and is available in Spanish and English at this time. She focuses on telling stories in such a way as to mobilize prayer… She works for Multiply, is a writer, author and speaker who teaches workshops on intercessory prayer and personal prayer ministry. Bible Study
In our spiritual growth, nothing beats holding a real Bible in your hands, curled up in your favourite chair, and finding refuge for your soul. At the same time, there are a ton of resources available online to enhance your personal study. Although I could easily recommend a hundred Bible teachers, ministries, or organizations, for now- I will simply recommend these online resources to aid in your personal study of God’s word. I am recommending these primarily because of their non-denominational focus and they are highly accessible and available on multiple devices.
The Bible Recap
If you've ever closed your Bible and thought, "What did I just read?", this podcast is for you! In about 8 minutes a day, we’ll give you a summary and highlight reel of that day's Bible reading from our 1-year chronological plan (free on the Bible app), and you can start anytime—it's always a good time to read the Bible! Tim and I are diving into this together this year as a unique way to read through the Bible chronologically! (Click here)
The Bible Project
PLUS, The Bible Project now offers “Classroom” which are free self-paced, graduate-level Bible classes online. These classes are designed to equip learners with study tools that foster deep engagement with the biblical story.
Bible Gateway
LOGOS Bible Software
BSF, the Bible App, The Bible Project and Bible Gateway are all free, open to the public and supported by personal donations.
Logos Bible Software on the other hand is a digital library application designed for electronic Bible study for purchase. “In addition to basic eBook functionality, it includes extensive resource linking, note-taking functionality, and linguistic analysis for the study of the Bible both in translation and in its original languages.”
The above resources are available without any formal education requirements as God’s word is meant to be read and experienced with our whole being: heart, soul, mind, strength. If you are looking to attend a Bible college or Seminary for more formal/ accredited education, feel free to reach out to me for recommendations. I am a recent graduate of the Briercrest Seminary with my master’s in Christian Ministry. I have also audited courses at Horizon College and Seminary in Saskatoon. I recommend both of them for in-person modules or online learning in a variety of disciplines. I am also familiar with other schools locally and across the globe, but these two are the ones I have personal experience with and want to give a shout out to!
