Your Story
I’ve been sharing my personal story for over 25 years. What gives me joy is empowering others to work through their own. It’s a beautiful journey witnessing others find greater healing, restoration and clarity. Understanding (making peace with), or sharing your own personal story with others is a powerful step of faith.
Currently, I am offering two types of workshops regarding storywork:
Workshop #1 Faith Stories: My Story is His Story
I am pumped to link arms with Women’s Journey of Faith to offer the Faith Stories workshop! Since the organization officially began with our first conference in September 2000, my most rewarding times in leadership has been sharing testimony myself, hearing testimonies from our speakers, our team and the women in our community.
As founder of WJOF (since 1999), one of the greatest joys throughout the years has been encouraging women to know their identity in Christ and to share who He is in their lives with others. The Faith Stories curriculum is one that is filled with Truth and Grace which is easy to understand and apply to your life no matter how long you’ve believed or are a follower of Jesus Christ. Below is a promo for WJOF where I am partnering with them this year in hosting some workshops!
Workshop Option #2: “Your Castle Story”
In 2018, I attended a weekend retreat that sparked much of my inspiration. The main goal of this retreat was to discuss the topic of healthy relationships. I appreciated the diversity in addressing the importance of our stories through clear teaching, prayer / meditation, worksheets, creative expression and personal sharing. Through my years of experience in leading others as well as gained knowledge from that weekend retreat, I have developed various workshops that can be personalized to both individuals and small groups. Whether you are in recovery mode or realignment mode, we all benefit when we have a greater sense of self. Understanding and embracing the “Greatest Commandment” includes Loving God with our whole heart, mind, soul strength and loving neighbour as yourself. This workshop and related resources will help you gain a deeper understanding of that integration.
Throughout this workshop, we will be discussing topics such as:
Who are you? Where are you? Who Told you? Truth vs Lies
Healthy Boundaries vs Unhealthy Walls
And more!
The Bible states that we are created in a relationship for relationships (Genesis 1:26-27). As we reflect on our own stories, we can can continue (or begin) to embrace what a healthy relationship is with our Creator, with ourselves and where possible, with others. Understanding God’s story throughout your own personal story is one of the golden threads that will empower you to find wholeness, purpose and meaning. Together we will address our longing for “perfection” or wholeness, the reality of brokenness in our lives and world and God’s plan for restoration. This workshop aims to provide you with inspiration and the tools necessary to awaken your soul by creatively moving you to a greater level of confidence, joy and inner peace.
Castle Story Resource
A primary resource we utilized was “Parables for Personal Growth” by Dr. Melinda Reinicke based out of California. She has given me permission to utilize her resources to help others. Other Resources- Visit my “Downloads” page

Feeling the nudge to write? For those who want to go further and write/publish your story in some format, I have some resources to recommend both here in Canada and the USA that include study books, writers groups, coaches or courses to take.
For more intense learning on story work, I recommend Dan Alllender with The Allender Center which is an institution housed within The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology. Check out “To Be told” or Gene McConnell with Authentic Relationships International among other teachers and organizations.
